Examples of character creation.

Ash chooses to play ‘Bob Smith’, a paramedic who has escaped from the chaos and has dumped his out-of-fuel ambulance some miles away. He picks ‘Medical supplies’ (taken from the ambulance) and ‘Medical training’.

Carrie is playing a larper called ‘Kerry’ who has looted a pair of guns from a police station. She picks ‘Gun’ twice, though has no extra ammo (poor planning but she has two guns!).

John is playing an off-duty police officer named ‘John’ that has decided to get away from the cities. He has picked ‘Firearms training’ and ‘Tough-as-nails’ (though as he is law-abiding has not looted anything).

Kay decides to play an escaped prisoner and picks ‘Melee weapon’ (a larp-safe broken chair leg) and ‘Tough-as-nails’.

Jamie is playing a premiership footballer called ‘Vinnie Beckham’. He hasn’t thought to pick up any equipment and has no especially relevant skills but is in really good shape due to his training. He picks ‘Tough-as-nails’ twice.
