FAQ.

What kit do I need?

It is set in October of the year 2006, so basically nothing special, just what you are wearing, maybe a tent (if you intend to sleep). Perhaps a weapon such as a 21st century survivor living in Britain could grab while running for the hills (larp safe: frying pans, shovels, display katanas, knives, guns, fire axes, baseball bats, larp-safe-bricks etc...).

All your gear is considered IC. As such have either a back-pack that your character brought it to Spitewinter in or some way of explaining how you and your gear got here. Your character does not have access to a car (it ran out of fuel a while back).

We encourage players to bring fake blood (washing-up liquid + food dye works well) to use on themselves when they get wounded. You should also bring kit for back-up characters that is markedly different from the kit for your starting character. Do not wear clothes that could be ruined by rolling around in mud and having fake blood sprayed on them.

You are going to be outdoors in October so we suggest warm clothing, shelter of some kind, food, a torch etc…

When is it?

6th-7th-8th October. Time-in is at 10am Saturday and it will run until 10am Sunday (24 hour time-in). The plan is for players to turn up on Friday night, camp out, go time-in at 10am Saturday morning & remain IC until 10am Sunday morning.

How much does it cost?

£15 a head, which includes 2 nights camping at Spitewinter.
You may pay by cash or cheque now or at the game, but you must pay before you play.
Yes, we are running at a huge loss, but hey, we like you guys!

Which areas are in-character?

They all are.
The toilets, your tents, everything.

Cars are OC and any other OC area will be clearly marked. Your gear is all IC as well. This is survival horror so fights over food etc may break out. Your food is IC and can be destroyed or stolen. Please bring OC food and keep it in a car or with the refs in case your IC foodstuffs are destroyed or stolen. Please keep any medication that you need in your car or with the refs. You will recognise the refs by their spiffy white hats that say “Ref” on them.

How long does the game last?

The game is scheduled to run from 10am Saturday October 7th to 10am Sunday October 8th. However… there are inbuilt win/loose conditions within the game. In the quite unlikely event that one of these conditions occurs the game will come to an end and we will all, player and crew alike, crack open a beer or two and sit around camp fires laughing.

What can I expect?

The combat rules are deadly (headshots from guns kill instantly) so please do bring a couple of distinct changes of clothing for back-up characters.
There is grappling & hand-to-hand fighting allowed for role-play purposes (though only weapons can truly harm & kill) so if you are fragile and break easy (bad back etc) please do not play. There are no non-combatant roles. You will likely be running around in the dark chasing or being chased by other characters.

What if I object to playing a game where characters may try to grapple me in the dark or what if I object to players or crew entering my tent?

Then we will laugh at you and point at you and then kick you off site. Once you pay you agree to take part in a full-contact 24 hour game with few OC areas. Once you have paid, we will take your money and hide it, you will not get it back. If you object to a fellow player or crew member trying to kill you while you are on the toilet, tough. We suggest you bring a friend or ally with you on your toilet trips or just get really really paranoid.

Can I bring a torch?

The flaming-burning kind? No. The kind that runs on batteries? Yes. If someone shouts at you “Idiot, you ruined my night vision” say to him or her “Yes” then shoot them dead.

Can I use an air-soft gun?

You may not bring any kind of actual projectile firing weapon (with the exception of crossbows) to the game. The only guns that are acceptable are noise-making weapons (such as cap guns). You may not bring any real swords or fire-axes. If you bring a pocketknife or multi-tool please keep it secured in your pocket, and before removing it think to yourself “If I get jumped now I will not fight back for that would be stupidly dangerous”.

What is the minimum age to play PLAN C?

16. You may not be on site if you are younger. No, you may not bring your kids, or pets. Realistically you are going to be running around in woods at night and the potential for little Timmy getting hurt is high. We expect people past the age of 16 to be responsible people who can look after their own safety.
